According to a news release from the fire department, the first firefighters to arrive “encountered fire from a window on the side of the structure.” The fire was quickly brought under control.

Firefighters rescued one man from the roof, while a second was found unconscious on the second floor. Both were transported to an area hospital, where they were in serious condition. No firefighters were hurt.

The building was uninhabitable after the fire, leaving about 16 people displaced. They were being assisted by the American Red Cross, or have other places where they can stay.
