Pasay City, Philippines — Organizing an event at the SMX Convention Center and Mall of Asia Complex is set to become more efficient as 2GO partners with SMX Convention Center, Central Business Park (CBP), and SM Estates to introduce a centralized system for event logistics and permit facilitation.

The new 2GO-SMX Events Logistics initiative brings permit processing and logistics coordination under a one-stop service model. It aims to simplify the movement of exhibit materials, event equipment, cargo, and deliveries for exhibitors, organizers, contractors, suppliers, and service providers.
The partnership was formalized through a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), establishing a more coordinated process for event logistics at the SMX Convention Center and the surrounding Mall of Asia Complex.
One-Stop Permit and Logistics Support
Under the agreement, 2GO will serve as a central point of contact for permit facilitation. The company will assist contractors with permit applications, coordinate endorsements with SM Estates, and process submissions with CBP.
2GO will also provide logistics support throughout the different stages of an event, including ingress, event operations, and pull-out activities.
“Streamlining our work with SMX, CBP, and SM Estates is a reflection of our commitment to innovation across the logistics ecosystem,” said Faye Alonzo, 2GO Forwarding Business Unit Head.
She added that consolidating permit processing into an integrated, end-to-end solution will allow exhibitors and organizers to move cargo more efficiently and with greater confidence.
Simplifying Event Operations
The initiative is designed to address a common operational challenge for events: coordinating multiple permits, endorsements, deliveries, and vehicle access requirements.
Through the one-stop model, organizers and their suppliers can coordinate more efficiently while meeting the estate and venue’s operational requirements.
The streamlined process is expected to reduce administrative work, minimize potential delays, and improve coordination during event setup and dismantling.
Walid Wafik, Senior Vice President for Operations of SM Hotels and Conventions Corporation, which manages the SMX Convention Center, said the partnership creates a more seamless framework for venue logistics.
“By aligning our expertise and resources, we are creating a more seamless and efficient framework for our venue logistics,” Wafik said. He added that the collaboration supports SMX’s goal of providing world-class experiences backed by efficient operational systems.
Stronger Coordination Across SMX and Mall of Asia
SM Estates will play an important role in permit review and endorsement under the new arrangement.
Jessel Kabigting, Senior Vice President for Development and Management of SM Estates, said closer coordination among the partners will help create a faster and simpler process for event-related requirements.
Central Business Park will continue to oversee permits, vehicle access, and applicable fees within its jurisdiction.
CBP President Erickberth Calupe emphasized that the partnership will allow the participating organizations to coordinate their services more effectively while maintaining CBP’s regulatory authority.
“Strong partnerships are essential to creating effective change,” Calupe said, noting that CBP remains the sole authority responsible for regulating permits, vehicle access, and fees.
What the Partnership Means for Event Organizers
For exhibitors and event organizers, the new system can make the logistics side of event planning easier to manage. Instead of coordinating separately with multiple parties for different requirements, they can access a more centralized process through 2GO.
The partnership covers key stages of event logistics, including:
- Permit application facilitation
- Coordination with SM Estates
- Permit submission with CBP
- Cargo and exhibit material movement
- Event equipment deliveries
- Ingress and event setup
- Logistics support during events
- Pull-out and dismantling activities
- Coordination with contractors and suppliers
The collaboration highlights the growing importance of integrated logistics solutions in the Philippine events and conventions industry. With major exhibitions, conferences, trade shows, and corporate events regularly held at SMX Convention Center, efficient cargo movement and permit coordination can significantly impact event operations.
For 2GO, the partnership also strengthens its role as an integrated transportation and logistics provider by expanding its services to meet the operational requirements of the country’s growing events and exhibitions sector.
