Orgo-Life the new way to the future Advertising by AdpathwayIn Viet Nam’s Mekong Delta, rising sea levels and saltwater intrusion are threatening freshwater supplies and damaging crops. To help farmers adapt, the Viet Nam Association of Community Colleges (Hiệp hội Cao đẳng Cộng đồng Việt Nam) is introducing low-cost water storage systems that capture and store rainwater for domestic use and irrigation. Supported by the UNDP-Adaptation Fund Climate Innovation Accelerator (AFCIA), the initiative combines circular economy principles with climate adaptation by reusing discarded plastic from shrimp farms to build large water tanks and irrigation systems. The project strengthens livelihoods and builds long-term resilience in some of Viet Nam’s most climate-vulnerable communities by reducing dry-season water costs, cutting pollution, and spreading solutions through farmer-to-farmer learning.
