The Artemis II crew has made contact with NASA's mission control after travelling around the far side of the moon. Their Orion spacecraft reached its maximum distance from Earth at 252,760 miles, passing 4,070 miles away from the moon, and was out of contact with the Earth for around 40 minutes.
