Sip Creative Cocktails, Spirits, and Beers Infused with the Country’s Botanicals
Hong Kong — Bistro Hoi An, a culinary homage to Vietnam’s fresh, fragrant flavors and diverse cuisines, opens today at Civic Square in ELEMENTS, West Kowloon. It features a spacious two-storey layout facing the outdoor piazza, where the enticing scents of abundant herbs will inspire lively gatherings and private celebrations.

Bistro Hoi An Opens Its Doors at ELEMENTS
Authentic dishes crafted with innovative techniques elevate Vietnam’s vibrant street food scene, complemented by an exciting drinks menu featuring Vietnamese spirits and unique botanicals. The Happy Hour (daily, 3pm – 8pm) lives up to its name with 20% off on selected beers, wines, cocktails, mocktails, and spirits.

Managed by Cafe Deco Group, Bistro Hoi An captures Vietnam’s culinary heritage by blending the cozy neighborhood dining atmosphere of the French colonial period with the cultural richness of ancient Hoi An, a historic port city. True to its name, meaning “peaceful meeting place,” the interior showcases vibrant traditional lanterns and a spacious layout of over 5,500 sq. ft. accommodating more than 170 guests on two levels and outdoor tables. The décor features wood, leather, exposed brick, and sleek tiles, complemented by a brown and grey color scheme and a mural illustrating local life along the Hoi An canals. The restaurant is also available for private events, offering a memorable setting for parties.
Delightfully Diverse Dishes Showcasing Colour, Flavour and Fragrance
The true essence of Vietnam shines in its kitchen, where a diverse array of herbs, spices, and essential ingredients come together to create complex flavors and uplifting aromas. Key components such as mint, Vietnamese coriander, perilla, basil, lemongrass, galangal, garlic, ginger, and shallots are complemented by housemade fish sauce (nuoc cham), pickles, sesame oil, and chili oil. The fragrant green herbs and fresh red chilies serve as vibrant garnishes for beloved Vietnamese dishes, enhanced with creative touches.

Enjoy a refreshing take on summer appetizers with a spicy twist that blends East and West. Try the Shrimp Ceviche (HK$138), featuring sashimi-grade tiger prawns immersed in a fruity calamansi nuoc cham. For an exciting flavor profile, savor the Beef Tartare (HK$148), a zesty mix of French beef seasoned with fish sauce, chili, and cilantro, complemented by betel leaf, rice powder, and crunchy youtiao (fried dough sticks).

The journey continues with the Chargrilled Pork Jowl (HK$105), featuring generous slices of this flavorful cut, accompanied by a refreshing green papaya salad, shallots, and a moreish tamarind sauce. Next, the Vietnamese Chicken Skewer (HK$105) is enlivened by a cilantro pineapple dipping sauce. Finally, the Buttered Garlic Chicken Wing (HK$88) showcases plump chicken joints that are first deep-fried, then sautéed in butter and garlic for an irresistible finish.

Perfect for the summer months, Vietnamese salads and traditional rolls come with crisp seasonal vegetables, herbs, and a dash of flair. The Honey Pomelo Prawn Salad (HK$138) blends sweet, citrus, and seaside flavors. Deep-fried to perfection, the Crispy Pork & Taro Spring Roll (HK$88) is cushioned by fresh outer wrappings of lettuce, pickles, and fresh herbs; by contrast, the soft exterior of the Rice Paper Roll is enhanced by crunchy fillings of Soft Shell Crab (HK$118), Prawn & Avocado (HK$98), or the vegetarian combination of Mango Avocado (HK$82).
Nodding to the classic tastes of French Indochina, our signature Banh Mi baguettes offer a delicious selection: Grilled Pork (HK$128), Roasted Chicken (HK$128), and Grilled Beef (HK$138). Each is generously stuffed with foie gras pâté, pickles, fresh herbs, and mayonnaise for an unforgettable flavor experience.

Classic fiery pho and other noodle-soup bowls shine brightly on the colorful menu. The Bun Bo Hue, featuring US Beef Brisket, Rare Beef, and Pork Belly (HK$138), offers a fragrant and satisfying experience with vermicelli soaking up a rich broth crafted from beef bones simmered for over 12 hours. For seafood lovers, the Crab & Tomato Rice Vermicelli Soup (HK$135) features a slow-cooked stock of Vietnamese crab and fresh tomatoes, topped with king prawn and minced pork.
Bistro Hoi An’s delectable Bun Tron platters are refreshingly light and flavorful, with the rice noodle salad brightened by the crunch of house-made pickles, roasted peanuts, shallot chips, and caramelized onion, as well as aromatic Vietnamese herbs. Meat lovers will favor the Grilled Chicken Vermicelli Platter (HK$115), while the Eggplant Avocado Bean Curd Vermicelli Platter (HK$108) is a wholesome must-have. Decadent curries featuring egg are sprinkled with sweet basil and served with baguette: choose from Soft Shell Crab in Special Egg Curry (HK$198) or King Prawn in Special Egg Curry (HK$268).

The ‘Bigger Bites’ section of the menu features popular dishes such as the Hoi An Suckling Pig (HK$288), drizzled with hot sriracha hoi sin sauce and garnished with cooling pickles and fresh herbs. Another highlight is the photogenic Turmeric Whole Seabass (HK$238), served with roasted peanuts, lettuce, pomelo, and rice vermicelli. Lastly, the Chargrilled M9 Wagyu Bavette (HK$338) impresses with its premium marbled meat, complemented by sticky beef sauce, pickles, and shallot chips.
The Roasted Three Yellow Chicken (HK$186, half) is marinated in lemongrass, palm sugar, and lime leaves before being roasted to perfection. It’s topped with caramelised palm sugar crumbs and served with the chef’s signature three-flavoured sauce.

Another must-try is the succulent Vietnamese Style Sautéed King Prawn (HK$288), which showcases vibrant colors and rich flavors from annatto seeds and foie-gras sauce. The prawns are perfectly cooked, offering a satisfying bite that complements the creamy, umami-rich sauce, perfect for mopping up with the accompanying baguette.

Desserts provide a sweetly refreshing conclusion to the spicy-sour-salty Vietnamese dining experience. Featured are Caramelised Popcorn Banana (HK$72), paired with Lotus Biscoff gelato and raspberry; Coconut Sherbet (HK$72), adorned with mango, pomelo, peanut, lime, and honeycomb; and Affogato (HK$72), showcasing Lotus Biscoff gelato drenched in Vietnamese espresso.
Drinks Laced with Local Ingredients Reflecting Vietnam’s Energy and Charm
Like the food menu, the all-new drinks menu favors Vietnamese herbs and home-grown ingredients, providing a one-of-a-kind pre- or post-dinner drinking experience. Botanicals like juniper, pepper, and tea headline the award-winning small-batch Lady Trieu Contemporary Gin (HK$98), while the floral Lady Trieu Dalat Flowerbomb Gin (HK$108) showcases jasmine, chrysanthemum, lotus, and coriander, and Lady Trieu Sapa Citrus Tea Gin (HK$108) is a heady herbal pour. The first premium dry gin distilled in Ho Chi Minh City, Saigon Baigur (HK$108), reveals notes of citrus, spices, petals, and juniper berries. Sampan Rhum (HK$98), made with local sugarcane juice, is a dry, white Vietnamese rum with floral and salty undertones.

These local spirits are expertly crafted into a selection of ingenious cocktails that are as visually appealing as they are delicious. For instance, the Go with the Pho (HK$118) is served in a bowl and combines Lady Trieu Contemporary Gin and Cointreau with a blend of cinnamon, black cardamom, star anise, coriander, lime, and a unique twist of beef broth. Meanwhile, the delightful Dalat Garden (HK$118) features Lady Trieu Dalat Flowerbomb Gin, complemented by elderflower liqueur, lemon juice, apple juice, and lavender syrup.
Bui Vien Espresso Martini (HK$108) is an adrenaline rush of Sampan Rhum, Vietnamese coffee, and crème de cassis. Sweet chocolate meets bitter-sour in the tall, slim cocktail of Hanoi Nights (HK$98), mixing crème de cacao, Campari, calamansi syrup, and tonic water; and Sapa Colada (HK$98) serenades rice with Vietnamese rice wine, Sampan Rhum, rice milk, pineapple juice, butterfly pea, and a frothy topping of toasted rice foam.

Mocktails (all HK$78) are equally eye-catching. The rosy spectacle of Hoi An Cong Chua features lychee, calamansi juice, and elderflower syrup, beautifully complemented by carbonated rose tea. For a tropical holiday thirst-quencher, try the Phu Quoc Sunset, which combines pulpy grapefruit purée, lime, soda, and a hint of smoked sea salt. Lastly, indulge in Lush, a creamy green delight made with Sicilian pistachio paste and coconut milk, sweetened with raspberry purée.
Bistro Hoi An offers a tempting selection of bottled beers (HK$78 each) from Vietnam. These include craft beer specialist iBiero’s innovative options like the Hanoi Autumn Lager with Pandan, Brown Chocolate Stout, and Vanilla Cream Ale. Additionally, you can enjoy Heart of Darkness’s Purpose Cucumber Pilsner and Quietest Creature Lemongrass Wit wheat ale from Saigon. For those seeking a lighter alternative, Saigon Cider Original Apple provides a crisp and refreshing option.

Vietnamese coffee is known for its strong Robusta beans and slow-drip phin brewing through a metal filter. Bistro Hoi An is the perfect place to savor the country’s French-inspired café culture and eclectic local coffee tastes, with the likes of Cà Phê S?a (Coffee with Condensed Milk, HK$55), Strawberry Cà Phê S?a (HK$60), Cà Phê Tr?ng (Coffee with Egg Yolk & Condensed Milk, HK$60), Cà Phê Mu?i (Coffee with Condensed Milk & Sea Salt, HK$60), and the tropical coffee cooler of Cà Phê D?a (Iced Coffee with Condensed & Coconut Milk, HK$60).
