My legs are dead, but my lifelist has never been happier! Today we pulled off an absolute marathon of a hike, and the bird gods rewarded us big time! We checked out the new hide, and the Crescent-faced Antpitta showed up right on cue, looking absolutely flawless Just when we thought our knees were going to give out, boom! Double surprise at the new feeders: both the Undulated Antpitta and the Bicolor Antpitta popped out for a snack. To keep the antpitta party going, the Equatorial Antpitta and a very curious White-browed Spinetail decided to join the chat too No rest for the wicked! We pushed forward, locking in the Grass Wren and a massive swarm of hummingbirds, with the flashy Golden-breasted Puffleg completely stealing the spotlight with its puffy white boots. And talk about an epic grand finale: the stunning Gray-breasted Mountain-Toucan (absolute royalty!), a majestic Andean Guan, and the ultimate cherry on top... the high-altitude king itself, the Buffy Helmetcrest!
