The broadcaster and campaigner, best known for presenting That's Life!, founded charities supporting children and older people and became a prominent campaigner for assisted dying in England and Wales. Her family paid tribute to her as "the most wonderful mother" and a "cherished grandmother", remembering her for her "endless capacity for joy".
