Heavy rain has battered northern China, causing serious flooding across parts of Hebei and Shanxi provinces. Hebei recorded extreme rainfall, with Cang County receiving around 350 millimeters in 24 hours. Floodwater has covered roads, entered residential areas and disrupted transportation in several locations. In Shanxi, rapidly rising mountain streams, mud and floodwater are affecting roads and low-lying areas.
