Heavy rain is causing serious flooding across parts of Yunnan in southwestern China. Zhaotong and Yiliang are among the areas facing the most difficult conditions. The Baishui River near Niujie has risen above the warning level as water levels remain high. Mountain runoff is flooding low-lying areas and increasing the risk of sudden flash floods.
