In southern Cambodia, rising temperatures, drought and heavier rainfall are putting pressure on traditional backyard farming systems. To help communities adapt, the Livestock Development for Community Livelihood Organization (LDC) is introducing climate-resilient cricket and chaya farming. Supported by the UNDP-Adaptation Fund Climate Innovation Accelerator (AFCIA), LDC has trained 200 farmers across Takeo, Kampot and Kandal provinces to establish floating cricket farms and resilient chaya gardens. These low-labour, circular food systems are strengthening household nutrition, generating new income and building climate resilience for smallholder farmers.
