A strong earthquake just struck Colombia, causing some buildings to collapse and the ground to move by over a meter. This occurred outside of the subduction zone that defines many of the nation's earthquakes, instead originating at a lesser known other plate boundary. Today's video will discuss the magnitude 6.3 earthquake which struck, its reported damage, and its overall geologic setting through the perspective of a geologist.
