Scientists are warning that collapsing glaciers in Antarctica could be generating powerful underwater tsunamis that pull warmer water up from the depths and accelerate ice loss. Researchers believe this is affecting sea-level rise worldwide, and, to study this hidden process for the first time, they are deploying autonomous underwater drones beneath retreating ice fronts.
