In this image from the Curiosity Rover, we can see two distinct life forms on Mars. Many of these beings live underground. When they hear the rover approaching, they pop their heads out to investigate. NASA adds fake sand up to their necks and overlays a yellowish tint to make it all look like rocks scattered across a lifeless surface.
