The energy is electric. Birders, watershed alliances, faith-based groups, Indigenous leaders, youth advocates, and more all bring their own stories and struggles, woven together into one powerful chorus: Protect Nature!

As Canada advances major nation-building projects, the ecosystems that underpin our economy, health, and security face new challenges. To deliver the nature-positive vision of Canada promised by years of federal policy and investment, we must push back the creeping claims that nature protection is a burden or should be nothing more than an afterthought.

By “putting nature up front”, we have an opportunity to build a Canada worth building: strong; full of life; and with a firm foundation in the ecological values that unite us.

Here are our key messages this year:

1. Nature is NOT red tape. Strong regulations create economic certainty for investment.
2. Build Major Projects better with the Mitigation Hierarchy. Smart projects are cost-effective by avoiding damage to nature before having to fix it.
3. Nature builds our economy. Strategic investments in nature drive prosperity and competitiveness.

To deliver a Canada worth building, we have to put Nature Up Front!
