Orgo-Life the new way to the future Advertising by AdpathwayIn Fiji’s informal settlements, climate shocks and extreme weather are disrupting food production and access to fresh produce. To strengthen household food security, Smart Farms Fiji Foundation is supporting small-scale farmers with home hydroponic kits that supplement traditional soil-based farming. Supported by the UNDP-Adaptation Fund Climate Innovation Accelerator (AFCIA), the initiative has reached 150 community members in Koroipita, Lautoka, most of them young people and women. Using locally available materials, the portable hydroponic systems require less water, support year-round food production and can be moved during extreme weather events, helping communities build resilient and sustainable food systems.
