Point Roberts is one of the most significant eagle habitat's in the world, and eagles can be found all over the Point, but its Lily Point that is the last refuge for eagles in the greater Vancouver area. Vancouver is home to over 400 breeding pairs of eagles and another seasonal fluctuating population of non breeding eagles that number between 300 and 700. To the Salish people who have lived in the region for over 9,000 years, the eagle is the messenger to the Great Spirit. It is the spirit of the eagles that brought everyone to this event, and the resulting performance was a manifestation of that spirit.
