Labour's Sagal Abdi-Wali has won the Holborn and St Pancras by-election, beating Green Party leader Zack Polanski, who finished in second place. Abdi-Wali won 12,292 votes (45.17%), while Polanski won 8,928 votes (32.81%). The Greens conceded the race about half an hour before the result was announced. Speaking to Sky News after the concession but before the declaration, Polanski insisted he wouldn't stand down as Green leader. Asked by our chief political correspondent Jon Craig if he planned to stay on, he replied: "Yes absolutely. That is what leaders do."
