Orgo-Life the new way to the future Advertising by AdpathwayA Houston firefighter has been charged with credit card abuse following allegations that he stole the credit card information of a fellow firefighter and attempted to use it to make online purchases.
According to Click2Houston, 28-year-old Curtis Jones, a member of the Houston Fire Department assigned to Station 21 on Main Street, is accused of using a coworker’s credit card information to attempt to buy approximately $650 worth of merchandise online, including a shirt and a pair of sneakers.
Investigators with the Harris County Precinct 1 Constable’s Office allege that Jones obtained the card information after the victim left his wallet inside a backpack at the station. Detectives were reportedly able to link the online transaction to Jones through his IP address.
Precinct 1 Constable Alan Rosen issued a statement about the case, saying, “It is especially unfortunate when a first responder takes advantage of a fellow first responder.”
The investigation remains ongoing, and authorities have indicated that additional charges may be possible. At the time of publication, no information has been released regarding Jones’s employment status with the Houston Fire Department.
