Telemed7 is named AI Initiative of the Year, while the Super Preferred Clinics program wins Strategic Partnership of the Year, recognizing iCare’s efforts to improve access to healthcare through technology and collaboration.
iCare HMO Philippines garnered two prestigious awards at the 2026 Insurance Asia Awards, highlighting its innovative contributions to the healthcare and insurance sectors. The company was honored with the AI Initiative of the Year – Philippines award for its groundbreaking Telemed7 platform, which leverages artificial intelligence to enhance remote medical consultations and improve patient outcomes. Additionally, iCare HMO Philippines received the Strategic Partnership of the Year – Philippines award for its Super Preferred Clinics (SPC) program, a comprehensive network of healthcare providers established through strategic alliances to offer accessible and high-quality medical services to its members across the country.

The Insurance Asia Awards, held each year, honor insurers in the Asia-Pacific who are driving innovation, enhancing customer experience, and creating significant business and social benefits through their use of technology, products, and strategic initiatives.
For iCare, the dual recognition highlights two key priorities guiding the future of healthcare: increasing access to medical services via digital innovation and enhancing high-quality primary care through strategic partnerships.
“These awards recognize more than two successful initiatives. They affirm our belief that better healthcare begins with better access,” said Geronimo V. Francisco, President and CEO of iCare HMO Philippines. “Whether through AI-enabled telemedicine or strong partnerships with leading healthcare providers, our focus remains on helping more Filipinos say yes to better health.”
Telemed7, an award-winning initiative, was created to make medical consultations more accessible. Offered on Viber, this AI-powered platform automates appointment scheduling and connects users with licensed doctors in just 7 minutes, cutting wait times and enhancing convenience for members everywhere. It highlights how artificial intelligence is increasingly transforming healthcare by simplifying repetitive tasks and enabling quicker access to medical services.
The second recognition spotlights iCare’s Super Preferred Clinics initiative, a nationwide alliance with The Medical City Clinics, Healthway QualiMed, and Hi-Precision Diagnostics. Instead of running its own clinics, iCare employs a partnership model that taps into the expertise and widespread presence of trusted healthcare providers. Currently, the program includes 157 Super Preferred Clinics across the country, offering members easy access to primary care. Consultations at these clinics do not deduct from their consultation benefit limits.
The strategy highlights iCare’s long-term goal to strengthen its core as a health maintenance organization, collaborating with providers to enhance healthcare access and member satisfaction. By integrating digital health tools with a broad provider network, the company aims to meet the rising need for affordable, prompt, and preventive healthcare for employers, families, and individuals.
The recognition also occurs as employers across the Philippines face ongoing challenges from rising healthcare costs and growing demands for accessible employee health benefits. Digital health platforms and collaborative care models are gaining significance in enabling organizations to provide quality healthcare and control medical inflation.
Since adopting Singapore-based Value-Based Healthcare, iCare has increased investments in technology, partnerships with providers, and improving member experience. These initiatives enhance the company’s mission to help more Filipinos access quality healthcare through innovation, collaboration, and sustainable financing.
The two Insurance Asia Awards highlight a wider industry trend. As AI is more deeply incorporated into healthcare and collaborations grow vital for expanding access, insurers are shifting from just funding care to actively partnering in enhancing health outcomes.
In iCare’s approach, recognition highlights a strategy focused on purposeful innovation: leveraging technology to make healthcare more accessible, collaborating with trusted providers to expand reach, and enabling more Filipinos to Say Yes to Better Health.
