Orgo-Life the new way to the future Advertising by AdpathwayIn Bukidnon province in the southern Philippines, longer droughts, heavier rainfall and deforestation are increasing erosion risks and threatening Indigenous livelihoods. To respond, the Bukidnon Umayamnon Tribe Kapu-unan To Mga Datu Association (BUKDA) is leading a community-driven reforestation initiative that combines bamboo and cacao cultivation. Supported by the UNDP-Adaptation Fund Climate Innovation Accelerator (AFCIA), the project is restoring degraded land along the Pulangi River while creating climate-resilient income opportunities. The initiative is strengthening food security, restoring ecosystems, and supporting Indigenous-led climate adaptation. It plants robust, carbon-sequestering species that also protect against floods and soil erosion.
