The man who was the frontrunner to lead the inquiry into gangs who abused young girls says he pulled out of the process due to the growing toxicity surrounding the selection procedure. Jim Gamble told Sky News "petty, personal and political issues" were ruining the "opportunity of a lifetime" to help the victims of abuse. "Some people are serving their own vested interests in this, and they know who they are," he said. "Everyone needs to park their own petty, personal and political issues and focus on what's right for victims."
