MISSION LOG: MSL CURIOUSITY (SOL 45)
ROVER: **Curiosity** (MSL) · LOCATION: **Gale Crater**, Mars
**SOL 45 MISSION OBJECTIVE:** The rover was focused on initial **remote sensing** of its landing area, utilizing the **Mastcam** (which captured this image) and **ChemCam** instruments to characterize the geology and establish a scientific baseline before beginning its long traverse.
Just 45 days into the mission, the Curiosity Rover captures something incredible. NASA’s familiar yellow tint blends anomalies into the landscape—but this one stands out. To me, this looks like a type of **dinosaur**—large, reptilian, and unmistakably alive. I’ve discovered many reptile-like creatures on Mars, some eerily similar to Earth’s prehistoric life. Is this coincidence, or something deeper?
