A new explosive eruption just began at Japan's Kirishima volcano, causing ash to fall on nearby communities, especially to the east. This marks the overall volcano's first eruption since 2018, and has the potential to get larger in size and even last for several months. Today's video will discuss the ongoing eruption and the overall Kirishima volcano through the perspective and analysis of a geologist.
