Development minister Anneliese Dodds has resigned in protest over the government's decision to cut the aid budget in order to increase defence spending. Earlier this week, Sir Keir Starmer announced that international aid would be reduced from 0.5% to 0.3% of GDP to boost defence funding from 2.3% to 2.5% of GDP.
