Orgo-Life the new way to the future Advertising by AdpathwayA massive ice-and-rock collapse triggered a destructive torrent along the Nepal-China border. The flow carried ice, mud, rocks and water through mountain valleys in northern Nepal and Tibet. Timure and the Rasuwa Gadhi border area were among the affected locations. Roads, bridges, buildings and hydropower infrastructure were damaged or destroyed. The avalanche blocked a river and created a temporary lake, which later released water downstream. Another ice collapse added around 50,000 cubic meters of debris near the newly formed lake. Satellite data also revealed a second growing lake farther upstream. Nepal and China are closely monitoring the area because unstable slopes and lakes could trigger further dangerous flows.
