US tech firms have long feared that their Chinese competitors could catch them up in the AI race, but they thought they had more time. Now, China's latest offering, Kimi K3, appears to have closed the gap. The release comes just weeks after two US AI models, Fable and Mythos, were withdrawn by the US government over security concerns. There are now calls to throw those concerns aside and have unregulated AI growth.
