Maya is giving everyday spending a colorful Filipino twist with the launch of its special-edition Bukad Card, a nature-inspired design powered by Visa and made from 100% recycled plastic.

Meet Maya’s Special-Edition Bukad Card, Inspired by Philippine Nature, Powered by Visa, and Made from 100% Recycled Plastic
The new card takes its name from “bukadkad,” a Filipino word associated with a flower in full bloom. Its vibrant design celebrates the richness and diversity of Philippine nature through the distinctive illustrations of Filipino visual artist and illustrator Raxenne Maniquiz.
Flowers, lush foliage, wildlife, and charming details fill the card, creating a playful design that offers something new to discover with every glance. More than simply a colorful accessory, the Bukad Card also reflects Maya’s move toward more conscious materials.
A Card Made With Recycled Plastic
The launch comes as Maya completes its transition to 100% recycled plastic for all newly produced wallet cards.
The shift moves Maya away from virgin plastic by giving existing materials another life. Despite the change in material, the cards retain the security, durability, and functionality expected from Maya’s payment cards.
For travelers and everyday users alike, the Maya Bukad Card combines practical functionality with a design inspired by the Philippines’ natural beauty.
Designed for Everyday Spending and Travel
The Bukad Card is powered by Visa, allowing cardholders to make purchases and withdraw cash from ATMs wherever Visa is accepted worldwide.
For purchases made locally in the Philippines, cardholders can also enjoy 1% cashback on in-store and online transactions.
That makes the special-edition card more than just a collectible. It is designed for everyday purchases, whether you are shopping locally, dining out, preparing for a trip, or making online transactions.
From Card Design to Fashion Accessory
Maya and Raxenne Maniquiz are taking the Bukad concept beyond the wallet with a limited-edition scarf featuring the same nature-inspired illustrations.
The Bukad scarf transforms the colorful artwork into a wearable accessory, giving fans another way to enjoy the collection’s Filipino-inspired aesthetic.
The scarf will be available exclusively at PURVEYR Fair on September 12–13 at the World Trade Center Tent. Visitors who purchase the Maya Bukad Card for PHP 350 at the event can receive a Bukad scarf for free.
How to Get the Maya Bukad Card
Those unable to attend PURVEYR Fair can still get the special-edition card.
The Maya Bukad Card will be available in the Maya app starting September 9. To order, open the Maya app, go to the Cards tab, and select the Maya Bukad Card.
With its colorful celebration of Philippine nature, Filipino illustration, and 100% recycled plastic construction, the Bukad Card brings together creativity, functionality, and a more thoughtful approach to everyday products.
