Orgo-Life the new way to the future Advertising by AdpathwayA large and destructive earthquake struck last night in the Philippines, causing many buildings to collapse, especially on Cebu Island. Registering in as a magnitude 6.9, the earthquake caused the ground to shake back and forth in some areas for nearly a minute. And yet, this did not occur on a major known fault line, instead seemingly originating on a buried fault line previously unknown to science. Today's video will discuss the earthquake and why it occurred through the knowledge & analysis of a geologist. Note: While today's earthquake technically merely classified as "strong" rather than "major" (M6.0-M6.9 is strong, M7.0-M7.9 is major), I thought its proximity to a M7.0 was close enough to call it a major earthquake.
