ROANOKE, Texas — Roanoke became a regional training hub last week as the Roanoke Professional Firefighters Association Local 4084 hosted “Reps for Reedy” at its facility.
The hands-on program doubled as a tribute to Captain Michael Reedy, the beloved Roanoke fire officer who died in June, Hoodline reported.

Reedy died June 25 following a medical emergency after his shift, the department said. He served with Roanoke since 2007, led the Fire Honor Guard and the “Klownz on Fire” safety education team.
Eleven firefighters from Denton County Emergency Services Districts 1 and 2 participated, training on some of the most challenging fireground skills. The agency highlighted its members’ work in a social media post.
The training was designed to fine-tune core firefighting skills. “Reps for Reedy” focused on forcible entry, vertical ventilation and vent-enter-search (VES) techniques.
