Despite the main wave of the tsunami having passed, unusual currents and wave variations are still occurring in much of the Pacific Ocean. And, while hundreds of aftershocks have already occurred, more than 50,000 additional events are expected to occur within a year from today; all in the vicinity of the M8.8 megathrust earthquake which struck. Today's video analyzes these aftershocks and also discusses why the tsunami wasn't as high as initially expected.
