The latest recognition marks the hotel’s sixth consecutive win in the Philippine category and its second Asia-level recognition, reinforcing its position among the region’s recognized airport hotels.
Located within the Newport World Resorts complex in Pasay City, Savoy Hotel Manila caters to both leisure and business travelers looking for convenient accommodation near Ninoy Aquino International Airport.
For Socrates “Sonny” Alvaro, Managing Director of Megaworld Global Hotels & Resorts (MGHR), the recognition provides an opportunity to showcase Filipino hospitality to a wider international audience.
“What makes this recognition meaningful is that it puts a spotlight on what is already strong about our hospitality: the destinations we represent, the people behind every stay, and the genuine care Filipinos naturally extend to Guests,” Alvaro said.
He added that MGHR’s focus remains on strengthening its people, systems, and service standards to ensure that the qualities associated with Filipino hospitality are delivered consistently across its growing portfolio.

Savoy Hotel Manila previously won Asia’s Leading Airport Hotel in 2021 and has retained the Philippines’ Leading Airport Hotel title every year since.
The hotel’s latest awards reflect a service approach that combines operational consistency with a distinctly Filipino guest experience.
At the heart of MGHR’s service philosophy is the Sampaguita Brand of Service, guided by four values: Love, Honor, Dignity, and Healing.
These principles are integrated into employee training, guest interactions, service touchpoints, and daily hotel operations. The approach allows the group to maintain consistent service standards while giving each property room to reflect its location, culture, and community.
For a growing hotel group, this balance becomes increasingly important. Guests expect reliable service wherever they stay, but they also want experiences that connect them with the destination.
Savoy Hotel Expands Across the Philippines
The Savoy brand currently operates in Manila, Boracay, and Mactan, Cebu, offering travelers more options to experience the brand in established Philippine tourist destinations.
The portfolio is also set to grow with two upcoming properties.
Savoy Hotel Capital Town in San Fernando, Pampanga will feature 374 rooms within Megaworld’s 35.6-hectare Capital Town township development.
Another property, Savoy Hotel Palawan, is planned for Paragua Coastown in San Vicente, placing the brand in one of Palawan’s emerging tourism destinations.
The expansion gives Savoy an opportunity to bring its service philosophy to more parts of the country while adapting each property to its respective destination.
Growing MGHR’s Philippine Hotel Portfolio
The 33rd World Travel Awards Gala Ceremony StageSavoy Hotel Manila’s latest World Travel Awards recognition comes as Megaworld Global Hotels & Resorts continues to expand its presence in the Philippine hospitality industry.
MGHR currently has a portfolio of 16 hotels and is targeting nearly 12,000 hotel rooms by 2032 across key destinations in the Philippines.
As the portfolio grows, the group is focusing on aligning operations, employee development, service standards, and destination identity across its properties.
For travelers, this means that the expansion of the hotel portfolio is closely tied to maintaining a consistent guest experience across different destinations.
Bringing Filipino Hospitality to More Travelers
The recognition of Savoy Hotel Manila highlights the growing visibility of Philippine hotel brands in the regional hospitality market.
Its continued success also reflects the role of people and service in shaping the hotel experience, particularly for travelers arriving in Manila through the country’s main international gateway.
As Savoy expands to Pampanga and Palawan, the challenge will be maintaining the service standards associated with the brand while creating experiences that feel connected to each destination.
For MGHR, the goal goes beyond increasing the number of hotel rooms. The group aims to ensure that every property continues to represent Filipino hospitality through consistent service, local relevance, and meaningful guest experiences.
