The Health Secretary has hit out at resident doctors after they rejected the government's offer to call off strikes, which are due to take place between 17 December and 22 December. Wes Streeting said: "There is no need for these strikes to go ahead this week, and it reveals the BMA's shocking disregard for patient safety and for other NHS staff.
