Typhoon Dolphin slammed into eastern China, bringing torrential rain, powerful winds, and severe flooding, with Shanghai among the hardest-hit areas. Some parts of Shanghai received up to 400 millimeters of rain in just 24 hours, rapidly overwhelming drainage systems and flooding streets across several districts. Cars became trapped in rising water, while powerful winds battered the city, sending branches across roads and making travel increasingly dangerous. The storm severely disrupted transportation, with Shanghai's airports canceling more than 1,300 flights as heavy rain and strong winds swept across the region. Dolphin also brought dangerous conditions to Zhejiang, Jiangsu, Anhui, and other parts of eastern China, while more than one million people were evacuated because of flooding and landslide threats.
