Orgo-Life the new way to the future Advertising by AdpathwayThis week, up to basketball sized tephra rained down during a strong lava fountaining episode of Hawaii's Kilauea volcano. Meanwhile, in the Philippines, the Taal volcano erupted for its first time in 3 months. And in Indonesia, the Dempo volcano produced its largest eruption in more than 2 decades. Today's video will discuss these stories through the opinion and analysis of a geologist and list the 44 world volcanoes that are actively erupting. A quick note is that basketball sized tephra was only reported at one specific location, and did not fall everywhere where tephra fell during Kilauea's episode 44 lava fountaining on April 9th 2026. This video's thumbnail image shows a previous year's eruption of the Sakurajima volcano in Japan.
