Tropical Storm Edouard made landfall near Johnson Bayou, Louisiana, about 15 miles southeast of Port Arthur, Texas, at 2:20 PM.

The storm has maximum sustained winds of 60 mph and a minimum central pressure of 996 mb at landfall.

Gusty winds, tropical downpours and coastal flooding will be possible the next several hours. Tropical Storm Edouard will steadily weaken through Wednesday as it moves inland.

Rainfall totals of 3 to 6 inches are likely across the Upper Texas Coast and east-central Texas, with localized pockets of up to 9″ through Wednesday.

Edouard strengthened from a Potential Tropical Cyclone into a tropical storm in 9 hours on Monday. It is the 5th named storm this season. 3 of those 5 storms have been in the northern Gulf.
