Orgo-Life the new way to the future Advertising by AdpathwayStorm Goretti is "rapidly deepening now", according to Sky News weather producer Jo Robinson. The storm, which was named by the French meteorological service, will move in across the UK throughout today - bringing impacts such as strong winds, heavy rain and heavy snow, Robinson said. She added the process of the storm "deepening" at speed is also known as explosive cyclogenesis - which is sometimes referred to as a "weather bomb". That's when the central pressure of a storm drops by 24 millibars [a millibar is a unit of atmospheric pressure] or more over 24 hours, Robinson explained. "It will actually deepen close to 40mbs in the 24 hours between midnight Thursday and midnight Friday," she added. As well as facing an approaching storm system, the UK is also dealing with temperatures which have been dropping - sometimes to new lows for this winter. #UKWeather #WeatherLatest #UKSnow SUBSCRIBE to our YouTube channel for more videos: http://www.youtube.com/skynews Follow us on Twitter: https://twitter.com/skynews Like us on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/skynews Follow us on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/skynews Follow us on TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@skynews For more content go to http://news.sky.com and download our apps: Apple https://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/sky-news/id316391924?mt=8 Android https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.bskyb.skynews.android&hl=en_GB Sky News Daily podcast is available for free here: https://podfollow.com/skynewsdaily/ To enquire about licensing Sky News content, you can find more information here: https://news.sky.com/info/library-sales
