An ongoing shallow intrusion of magma is likely ongoing at a United States volcano which may not have erupted in more than 10,000 years. What I am referring to is the Kupreanof volcano, which just had its alert level raised to yellow. Magma is suspected to be at under 3.1 miles or 5 kilometers depth, but whether or not this leads to an eruption is uncertain.
