Zack Polanski has been elected the new leader of the Green Party after a months-long contest. The London Assembly member, who has served as the party's deputy leader since 2022, has campaigned on offering an "eco-populism" alternative to Labour and Reform. He has defeated incumbent co-leader Adrian Ramsay MP, who led the party alongside Carla Denyer MP to winning four seats in parliament at last year's general election - their highest total ever. Ramsay stood for the leadership alongside fellow MP Ellie Chowns, on a platform that they said was designed to appeal to the broadest possible audience.
