China is facing serious flooding in Shaanxi and Heilongjiang. In Shaanxi, more than 25,000 people have been evacuated after heavy rain. Floodwaters have damaged roads, bridges and other infrastructure. More than 140,000 people have been evacuated across Shaanxi since flooding began. In Heilongjiang, the Heilongjiang River has reached dangerous levels. China has recorded its first numbered flood of 2026 on the river. At least 16 rivers across China have risen above warning levels. Flood-control dams and reservoirs are under growing pressure as water levels rise. Authorities remain on high alert as rivers continue rising across both regions.
