A powerful storm has hit eastern Spain, bringing torrential rain and severe thunderstorms. Valencia, Catalonia, Murcia, Alicante, and the Balearic Islands have been among the affected areas. More than 100 millimeters of rain fell within several hours, with over 70 millimeters recorded in just half an hour in parts of Valencia. Streets, roads, tunnels, and cars were flooded, causing major disruptions to traffic and transport. Strong wind gusts and hail accompanied the storms, adding to the dangerous conditions. Further intense rainfall and flash flooding remain possible in some Mediterranean regions.
