Heavy rain is battering Yunnan in southwestern China, with Zhaotong among the affected areas. Yiliang County is facing particularly intense rainfall and rapidly rising river levels. The Baishui River near Niujie is above the warning level. Water levels are continuing to rise as heavy rain pours down across the region.
