Orgo-Life the new way to the future Advertising by AdpathwayIstanbul is battling severe flooding after torrential rains brought record-breaking rainfall to several districts. Beykoz recorded 277.1 millimeters of rain, the highest figure at the station since 1942, while some areas experienced their heaviest rainfall since 1985. Floodwaters inundated streets, homes, shops, and roads across both the European and Asian sides of the city. Cars became trapped or were swept away by powerful currents, while underpasses and low-lying areas filled with water. Emergency services deployed thousands of personnel and specialized vehicles, rescuing more than 2,700 people caught in dangerous situations. Schools were closed, traffic restrictions were introduced, and rescue crews continued clearing floodwater and repairing damaged infrastructure.
