Heavy rains are causing serious flooding across parts of Sichuan and Yunnan in southwestern China. Kunming has been hit particularly hard, with streets flooded and numerous vehicles stranded or submerged. Floodwater has entered shops and swept debris and vehicles through several affected areas. Around 20 vehicles were damaged along one flooded section near Qinglong Village. Chengdu and other parts of Sichuan are also experiencing severe urban flooding and major traffic disruptions. Heavy rainfall continues across eastern Sichuan and large parts of Yunnan, including Honghe Prefecture. Several rivers in Yunnan have already risen above warning levels, while mountain areas face flash floods and landslides. The combination of torrential rain, rising rivers and rapid mountain runoff is creating a dangerous and evolving flood situation across southwestern China.
